Why the PNG can be larger
PNG uses lossless encoding for the decoded image. It does not recover details already lost when the WebP was created, and its file size can be larger than the original WebP. The image dimensions are preserved; original EXIF and other metadata are not copied.
For an animated WebP, this converter saves the first frame as a still PNG.

Questions
Will my transparent background stay transparent?
Yes. PNG keeps the transparency decoded from the WebP image. JPG uses a white background instead.
Why is my PNG bigger than the WebP?
PNG and WebP use different compression. A larger PNG is normal and does not mean the dimensions have changed.
Does this restore lost image quality?
No. Conversion cannot reconstruct details lost in the original WebP. It avoids another lossy JPG encoding.
Does this convert animated WebP to animated PNG?
No. The output is a still PNG showing the first frame.
